Description

Tis the Season – Santa’s Mail 1000 Piece Holdson Puzzle

About the Artist:

Marcello Corti creates fantastic yuletide designs and atmospheric festive scenes which make him a hugely popular illustrator, his Santa Claus illustrations in particular are in demand.

He was born in 1961 in Bergamo, a beautiful medieval town in northern Italy know for being the home to artists including Caravaggio.  He is descended from a family of artists, painters, sculptors and poets.  He was instructed in the art of drawing and painting by his uncle painter Tullio Peteni, who also nurtured a passion for photography, which was his main profession for about 30 year.

He has always worked with images as a photographer, graphic designer, illustrator, combining experiences in various fields from paper, pagination, to advertising and design.  In 1988 he discovered computer graphics into which he poured all his experiences.  To be more independent and spend time with his family, illustration became his main job, he performs his work on a trusty table with Photoshop and a series of brushes that he created to simulate the various techniques such as watercolour, oil, pencil, charcoal etc

I am happy that I can continue to make works of art as my ancestors did, even with the use of modern means.
