About the artist:

Keith Brown was borne June 11 1952 in Burbank, California.  He began drawing at the age of five and was primarily self  taught.  He worked in pencil and pastels until he was sixteen, when he took up studying oils under his first and only teacher, Ashton Terry Sanford. In 1977 he moved to the sierra Foothills in Northern California where he lives with his wife.  They have three children.

His originals are oil on canvas and detailed pencil drawings.  The focus of his works are western landscapes and historical scenes.  His paintings depict scenes of a simpler time when the city streets were full of horse drawn carriages and trolley cars. Keith does extensive research on his subject matter using photos and historical references to portray his locations, buildings, and people as realistically as possible.

Keith draws on his fascinating family history from the Red Bluff and Yosemite areas of California, to fuel his passion for historical works.  His incredible Pieces have been sold throughout the United States.
