The successful artist Rosina Wachtmeister is known in particular for her imaginative and colourful paintings cats. Her pictures are poetic, fairytale declarations of love for the South, in particular Italy, where she lives in an inspiring idyll together with her many cats and other animals.
Rosina Wachtmeister grew up in the Austrian Lake. When she was still young, her family moved to Capena, a town in Rome that can be described as a picturesque village. She is still popular in the town today; her paintings and sculptures are known to everyone. She belongs to a large family that has a lot of animals. Her family also has a large garden. Wachtmeister loves nature, and her surroundings always inspire her and her work. When Wachtmeister was 14, she immigrated to Brazil with her family. She studied fine arts, sculpture, and stage design in a city called Porto Alegre. In 1967, she returned to Italy.
Upon Wachtmeister’s return to Italy, she exhibited her paintings at the Piazza Navona. She gained popularity, and her artwork became known to many people. In 1998, she began working for Goebel as a designer. Today, she sells her art in her shop and online. She sells mugs, plates, and jigsaws with images of her paintings on them. Her favourite subject is cats, and many of her paintings and sculptures have images of them. An example of this is Colourful Cat Family. It is a painting of two cats in a frame. The painting has a simple style and is appropriate for virtually any setting. Wachtmeister’s paintings portray happiness, joy, and peace. She also writes books. Her most popular book is called Das Lied von der Liebe, which can be found in the German National Library. She also hopes to help build up Capena. Her family is also committed to building up this small town by using their talents and skills.
