Summer Carnival, The Entrance NSW – IMAGES OF AUSTRALIA
I love carnivals and the interesting characters who bring them to us. I was fortunate to get to know the owners of this carnival and get an insiders view of their lives and culture. Many thousands of people would have wonderful memories of when this carnival used to visit The Entrance every year of the summer holidays. I’m so glad the family asked me to capture some images of the carnival, for it no longer visits The Entrance. I used to love taking my family along every year and seeing the excitement in their faces on different rides. The younger ones would challenge the adults courage and stamina to see if we could keep up with them. On one particular ride that threw your body in all direction, the operator recognised me and thought he was doing me a favour by giving us more time. The more I waved to try and get him to stop, the longer it went on. The kids were screaming with delight but when the ride finally ended, I was as green as a leprechaun. I took some time to recover, but eventually regained by dignity at the shooting gallery.
This high quality range of jigsaw puzzles presents the classic beauty of the Australian landscape as seen through the lens of Australian born photographer Ken Duncan – capturing the rich ochre reds of the outback, the turquoise blue of the sea and shadowed greens of the rainforest. Ken is one of the world’s leading exponents of panoramic landscape photography and spends much of his life travelling to remote and exotic locations.
