Description

Fanciful Friends 4 x 12 PC Wooden Jigsaw Puzzles in a box by Melissa & Doug

This Portable Puzzle set includes four wooden, 12- piece Jigsaw Puzzles with four different pretty characters including a Princess, Fairy, Ballerina and mermaid.

Each mini-puzzle is stored in a separate compartment of the sturdy wooden storage box, but just in case they get jumbled together, all the pieces are coded on the back for easy sorting!

The set is great for travel too.  The compact box keeps everything organized, and its lid works as a portable puzzle board.

Wooden Jigsaw Puzzles in a Box  promote creativity and imaginative play, and help teach hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, visual perception, memory skills, problem solving and sorting skills.

Extension Activities: More Ways to Play and Learn:

  • Look at the pictures of the puzzles on the outside of the box. Ask the child to identify each
    character (princess, fairy, mermaid, ballerina).
  • Gather the pieces from one puzzle and ask the child to count each piece out loud. Then add
more pieces from the other puzzles to count to higher numbers.
  • Select three or four pieces from one puzzle, and ask the child to identify the character they
    belong to.
  • Turn all the puzzle pieces face-down and mix them together. Ask the child to sort the pieces into
four piles by looking at the shapes printed on the backs of the pieces.
  • Ask the child to tell you a story based on one or more of the characters. Help provide story ideas
with leading questions, such as, “What do you think she ate for breakfast?”
