Ken Duncan – Old Sydney Town 748 Piece Puzzle
Old Sydney Town, Somersby NSW – IMAGES OF AUSTRALIA
For many years, Old Sydney Town was a well-known attraction on the NSW Central Coast. Visitors could wander down the dirt streets, dodging bullock carts and drovers with sheep, and hear the Town Crier issue a proclamation. It was just like stepping back in time to our colonial past. This faithful re-creation of the beginnings of our nation gave us an insight into what it would been like to have come far across the sea and be thrust into a wild, untamed land. Our early settlers were a hardy breed, who overcame many obstacles to carve out a living and help make this great country what it is today. The remnants of Old Sydney Town still stand and some a group of nostalgic people is calling for it be be revived. Perhaps an occasional walkthrough the heritage of our past, will help put into perspective some of the problems which come our way in modern times.
This high quality range of jigsaw puzzles presents the classic beauty of the Australian landscape as seen through the lens of Australian born photographer Ken Duncan – capturing the rich ochre reds of the outback, the turquoise blue of the sea and shadowed greens of the rainforest.
